Project Description
The objective of Finding Greece Coffee Co. is to be an extension of a previous research-based project showing European displacement during the on going, Syrian civil war. Specifically focusing on the life jacket graveyard on the coast of Lesvos, Greece, a haunting symbol of the thousands of refugees who risk everything to seek safety by boat to find a new beginning.
The coffee company draws its name and visual identity from the incredibly dangerous journey of those who “found” Greece not as a destination, but as a point of survival and hope.
The project uses coffee—a global symbol of comfort, culture, and community—as a storytelling tool to reflect on themes of migration, resilience, and belonging.
